Overview

Our Commitment to Your Privacy

Welcome to Responsive Test Tool ("we," "our," or "us"). We operate the website at responsivechecktool.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you use our Service.

We built this tool to help developers and designers test their websites โ€” not to collect your personal data. Our default stance is to collect as little information as possible while still delivering a high-quality, reliable experience.

By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you disagree with any part of these terms, please discontinue use of our Service.
Section 01

Information We Collect

We collect two categories of information: data you provide directly, and data collected automatically when you use our Service.

Information You Provide

  • URLs you enter โ€” When you paste a website URL to preview it. These are processed in your browser session and are not stored on our servers.
  • Contact form submissions โ€” If you reach out to us via email or a contact form, we receive your name and email address solely to respond to your inquiry.

Automatically Collected Data

  • Usage data โ€” Page views, session duration, feature interactions, and referring URLs collected via analytics tools.
  • Log data โ€” IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, and timestamps of requests made to our servers.
  • Cookies & local storage โ€” We use cookies for theme preferences (dark/light mode) and anonymous session analytics. See Section 05 for full details.
No account required. Our Service is fully functional without registration. We never ask for your name, password, payment details, or any sensitive personal identifiers.
Section 02

How We Use Your Information

Every piece of data we collect serves a specific, legitimate purpose. We do not sell your data. Here is exactly how we use what we collect:

Data Type Purpose Retention
URLs entered Load website preview in your browser via iFrame Session only โ€” never stored
Analytics data Understand feature usage, improve performance & UX Up to 14 months (aggregated)
Log data (IP, browser) Security monitoring, abuse prevention, error diagnostics 30 days, then deleted
Contact form data Respond to your inquiries and support requests Until request resolved + 90 days
Theme preference cookie Remember your dark/light mode preference 1 year (local, never sent to servers)
Section 03

Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share limited data only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers โ€” Trusted vendors who help us operate the Service (e.g., hosting, CDN, analytics). They receive only the minimum data needed and are contractually bound to protect it.
  • Legal requirements โ€” If required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public, we may disclose information to authorities.
  • Business transfers โ€” In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the same privacy protections.

Third-Party Services We Use

Service Purpose Privacy Policy
Google Analytics Anonymous usage statistics View Policy
Cloudflare CDN, DDoS protection, performance View Policy
Google Fonts Typography delivery View Policy
Microlink API Website screenshot generation View Policy
When you preview a website using our tool, your browser establishes a direct connection to that website via an iFrame. Any data collected by that third-party website is subject to their own privacy policy, not ours.
Section 04

Data Security

We take security seriously and implement industry-standard measures to protect the limited data we do collect:

  • HTTPS encryption โ€” All traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.3.
  • Minimal data collection โ€” The less we store, the less there is to protect. Our primary security strategy is not collecting data we don't need.
  • Access control โ€” Any collected analytics data is accessible only to authorized team members.
  • No password storage โ€” Since we have no accounts, we never store passwords or authentication credentials.
  • Automatic deletion โ€” Log data is automatically purged after 30 days.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Section 05

Cookies & Local Storage

We use a minimal number of cookies. Here is a full breakdown of every cookie we set:

Cookie / Key Type Purpose Duration
theme Functional Stores your dark/light mode preference (localStorage) Persistent
_ga, _gid Analytics Google Analytics session & user distinction 2 years / 24h
_gat Analytics Throttle Google Analytics request rate 1 minute
__cf_bm Security Cloudflare bot management 30 minutes

You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. Disabling analytics cookies will not affect the core functionality of the tool โ€” it will still work perfectly.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or any cookies designed to build a profile of you across other websites.
Section 06

Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data. We honor these rights regardless of where you are located:

  • Right to Access โ€” Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Correction โ€” Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Right to Erasure โ€” Request deletion of your data (subject to legal obligations).
  • Right to Object โ€” Object to processing of your data for analytics purposes.
  • Right to Portability โ€” Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
  • Right to Opt-Out โ€” Disable analytics tracking by opting out of Google Analytics or using browser extensions like uBlock Origin.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 08. We will respond within 30 days.

Section 07

Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete such information from our servers promptly.

Section 08

Changes & Contact Us

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
